Friend, You Must Read
We here at the Broom Factory have talked before about learning from men of the past in order to follow their example, or avoid their mistakes, when charting the course of our own lives. One of the best ways to do this, that we have yet to fully address, is simply to read. Reading books that are marked as classics, works that have endured through time as multiple generations find valuable lessons between their covers, is not an occupation for literature majors and landed gentry alone, but rather one of the best and most enjoyable ways for a young man to educate himself about life, history, philosophy and religion. Though there are many such lists as the one listed below, I felt this one was particularly fitting for skippers as it was compiled by the like-minded folks over at Art of Manliness.
So without further ado, 100 Must Read Books: The Man’s Essential Library. Now go make yourself a better husband and father by reading one of these great books.
And if you haven’t already checked out Art of Manliness, be sure spend some time there. It’ll make you a better man.
